My colour scheme would depend on the colours contributed in the
main image provided; I would identify the colours in the image and see what
other colours would coordinate well with it.
In my colour schemes, the colour I have
consistently used is black which is a monochrome, gender neutral colour which
associates with power, formality and mystery. This is important as my magazine
needs to appeal to both females and males aged 13-35. Therefore, the colour
black would be in my magazines considerably.
I matched the first colour scheme with
image 1 to create a mysterious sense with the dark colours. This highlights that
there's more to the story than meets the eye of the artist 'Carrie Underwood'.
The magazine would entail a full exposure of her, meeting the readers’ needs.
Also, the dark colours would make the magazine look sophisticated and elegant which would provide the illusion that my magazine is successful and established to the consumer.
The second colour scheme with image 2
consists of the colours black, red, blue and yellow. The artist, Leighton
Meester, is American thus the colours are linking the image and the artist
together allowing an American theme. Also, most of her songs are patriotic and
country. This would attract a large mass of an American audience; this is
beneficial as magazines are most successful in America.
The third colour scheme with the third
image provides colours of royalty - gold, black, purple and white. This
reinforces the idea of Kanye West’s high status in the music industry and demands
the consumers to notice the magazine.
